Test Pilot

This is the start of a story I've been playing around with for years. The germ of the story began with a visit to an old friend back in 2019 who lived in the Mohave Desert, not far from Edwards Air Force Base, who used to work there as an engineer. 

Another influence was an early scene in the movie Space Cowboys that featured Clint Eastwood in his garage in some nondescript neighborhood, likely also in the Mohave.

It's a story of a man who'd decided to end it all, only to encounter something so amazing and bizarre that it gave him the desire to live again. A girl who came into his life who was clearly not from this world. 

Together, they hatch a plan to save the world. A world that doesn't even know it needs saving. 

Not sure how many parts this story will consist of, but at least four, hopefully posted every two weeks.
