Major Announcement from Fats

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted an update on what has been going but here I am with an exciting update to the site.

Over November many changes will be taking place to the site, firstly I've disabled registrations, this is the first element of many on the site that I will be disabling over this month.

The second element will be the library, on the 19th Nov 2023 story submissions will be disabled this is to allow me to move the library over to the new setup,  there is a lot to move and I need the time to do that, the library will be still available for people to read so the stuff there won't be hidden from view.

The forum will be locked for new posts on the 28th Nov 2023 again this is for me to have the time to move the forum over to the new site, there are over a decade of posts so there are quite a few.

Lastly, on the 2nd of December I'll be launching a new version of the site with the server going down on the 30th to give me time to make the changes to the server that I need and to upload the site, at the moment the backup's of the site are sitting at around 11.5Gb the site when we first moved to discord we where sitting at 380MB, it's shown how much this site has grown over the years.

As you can see there is a ton of things going on in the background for the site to be updated and I wanted you to know what's happening.

Your site PMs will be deleted in the new version of the site so I'm informing you now that you have only a few weeks to save your PM's to your computer before they are lost forever.

In the new year, I'll be running a competition for a new masthead for the site, many new members may not be writers but are artists and are looking to contribute to the site and what better way than to have your artwork on every page on the site.

The very last thing is the site needs you, we need you to donate a little to keep the site going, our server costs and software licenses need to be renewed and without your help, we can't do that, we've been able to keep the site ad-free but that's only with your help and we are asking you for some of that help again.  In previous years people have wanted to donate but not via the PayPal option at the top of the page, this year I can announce that if people want to use a different system, they can contact me directly we can do something else, one option is for a bank transfer, I'm happy to use my bank account for that if there is another option that people want to use then they can get in touch and we can talk about it.

For all of you that submitted stories with pictures, don't worry. All the pictures have been archived in a dedicated folder, with subfolders for each individual writer.
