Ursa is back!!!
A $200+ million dollar movie featuring a super-powered villainess, directed by an action-oriented director, who's new movie features a cast of beautiful, ass-kicking women in skimpy costumes? Could this be the movie we've all been waiting for?

Man oh man, this is the one. Any of the actress would be great, but my fav is Rosamund Pike, she was a great evil babe in 007.
Only problem is that some sites are saying that Ursa (and Zod, of course) would only appear on an krypton Flashback (Ala the first movie) and in a possible sequel.
But anyway, the news made my day

Sarah Douglas as Ursa
If you do a search for "Superman Ursa" on Google news , you’ll find some more articles. According to some sources, Diane Kruger denies any involvement in the movie.
I myself would like to see Keira Knightley or Kate Beckinsale in the role.
Keira Knightley:

I guess I still think that Ursa should be a British brunette with brown eyes, but it’s not a deal breaker. Out of the three names that have been mentioned, I’d have to go with Rosamund Pike .

Also I was just doing some more snooping around, and a lot of people don't seem to be to thrilled with the idea of Ursa being in the movie. Meh, screw 'em.

Or the ultimate match-up ...I would rather see a new Superman movie with Ursa as a central character than a new Supergirl movie. Would love to have the choice between them.

I know. Smallville had Supergirl for about 5 minutes. And we can't even get a decent version of Wonder Woman on the air (or in the theater), yet they give us a super-Michael Chiklis. Gee thanks. I guess females just aren't allowed to be super-powered in Hollywood, unless you count a woman giving a man a karate chop or kicking him in the nuts as being "super", which I don't.Yeah, too bad you know it never will.

She's apparently signed up to do Wrath of the Titans.

And according to articles I've read, Diane Kruger has denied being offered the role of Ursa , so that would leave Alice Eve , who I really don't see as Ursa. Supergirl, maybe, but not Ursa. Not saying she couldn't pull it off though.Bummer. No more Rosamund.

I just wanted to add that I'm very skeptical of these Ursa rumors, but it sure is fun to speculate. 8)

The comic book nerds say, “No Ursa! Give us Brainiac! Give us Metallo!” (no offense to any comic book nerds)
The vast movie-going public sez, “Who the hell are Brainiac and Metallo? Give us URSA!”
Well, Mr. Snyder and Mr. Nolan, the people have spoken. They want Ursa.
(ok, ok … you can also include Brainiac and Metallo and whoever else you want, but you must have Ursa)
warning: this post may not reflect reality.

(sung to the tune of “Mack The Knife” by Bobby Darin)
There’s this lady ... have you seen her?
A vision ... clad all in black
She’s got powers, beyond reason
And she loves to go on the attack
She could flick you ... with her finger
Can fly faster ... than a fighter plane
She can make winds with her super-breath
Stronger than any ol’ hurricane
Bullets and bombs, babe, they don’t hurt her
Even them nukes, don’t leave a scratch
Yeah that ol’ Ursa , she’s invulnerable
Seems Supes has finally met his match
A-there’s this warship, huh-huh, down by the river don’t ya know
Must weigh 50,000 tons or more
But to Ursa, it don’t weigh nothin’
And she casually throws it on the shore
Didja hear about the Army? How they tried to stop her
With all their soldiers, guns and tanks
But that Ursa, she just stood there laughin’
They might have just as well been usin’ blanks
Now the US Army ho ho, yeah! US Navy
And the US Air Force just can’t bring her down
They’ve all had their asses handed to them
Now that Ursa’s back in toooooown!!!
Look out ol’ Ursa is back!!!

Yes, it's all coming together now. Ya know, it wouldn't bother me at all if they did a remake of Superman II. Ok maybe not a shot-for-shot remake, but one with the Phantom Zone villains as the main antagonists. They can leave out Luthor if they want, maybe use another villain, or have Ursa, Zod, and Non working on their own. I would also like Ursa to be less subservient to Zod (and with a bigger role, of course). Maybe there could be a kind of power struggle between them, with Non not being quite as stupid as we think, but instead having plans of his own.

heh yeah you think I would've learned by now. To be honest though, I'm still taking these rumors with a grain of salt. They may have even been started by the studio itself just to generate interest and discussion about the movie, which they have. It is possible we will see Ursa, Zod and Non in some Krypton flashback sequence. Maybe they will go with the comic book origin story, which you can read about here . I am assuming this will be a trilogy, so they may return in a sequel, like in the original Superman.eavatar wrote: Doc, you are always so full of hope. I am waiting an average movie with the villains not that much developted but they making several super feats, just to show the newest FX
(Perhaps we'll see a scene where Ursa dives into the ocean, then swims at super-speed until she's under the Queen Mary II, then she lifts it up, and throws it at Metropolis. Can Superman catch it in time? I don't think that should be too hard for today's special fx wizards to handle. )
