I don't want to spoil anything, but gave it a look it's absolutly worth the ticket.

Aw well, I made an agreement to see it with some friends, but that means I have to wait until after May 16.

So good start to Marvel: Phase 2 then?

Seem so.
I was very worried by the change of director, but it turned out ok. It helped that Jon Favreau is still around as executive producer (and playing "Happy" Hogan).

It's not so major, but I really want to keep the thread as spoiler free as possible. Let's just say that there are two ubergirls one very intentional, the other not so much and they both kicks major amounts of ass (especially the second).

No armor and they are nanite/bioengineered.

Not too bad. A rather pleasant surprise. Ironically, when the first 'ubergirl' was cast a while back, is was speculated what her role was gonna be and there was a rumor that she was cast as Janet Van Dyne (Wasp).....

But for those of us who want to know, how about posting some in a new thread with "SPOILERS" clearly indicated in the subject line? I, for one, would love to know what displays of super strength these ladies show in the movie!
No need for a new thread, someone that has seen it can hopefully describe it withing the spoiler tags.

Now, for the supergirl moments that happened in the movie:
Okay, so the way the Extremis Virus works is that it biologically 'upgrades' the part of your brain that says you need to repair this wound. Essentially, severed limbs regrows back in a matter of minutes and your organs function at a much more efficient rate. Naturally, this means that any tissue can grow back and much better than before, which would explain their superhuman physical abilities such as strength, speed and endurance. Also, they can consciously heat up any part of their body from gently heating something to outright reducing steel into a molten mess. Now this part was not explained, but I would probably deduce that because their metabolism is literally burning, they can consciously speed up their metabolism to achieve this.
Of course, there are some weaknesses. If their body cannot accept Extremis, their bodies would not metabolize the virus correctly, bringing their body temperature up to 3,000 Degrees Celcius, thus causing them and anyone close around them to vaporize instantly without a trace. And they can regenerate, but any fatal blow that pierces the brain or heart can still kill them.
Alright, for the supergirl moments:
1) In Tennessee, a female minion of The Mandarin, easily manhandles Tony Stark at the bar. Which is surprising because Tony is in rather good shape considering he has to be in order to wear the Iron Man Suits.
2) Female minion defeats the sheriff of the town at the bar with little to no effort. The sheriff is easily twice her size. Tony uses this to escape her momentarily.
3) For superspeed fans mostly, Tony crashes into a diner and in handcuffs still. Female minion tosses him around like a ragdoll for the most part. At one point, she slams him onto the counter, only for him to turn around to see her casually laying on the counter as if she was waiting quite a bit, even though the actions took her only a second.
4) Tony finally manages to get his handcuff chains around her, only for her to heat up her body and melt the chain around her neck. Tony was slightly singed from the handcuffs, but he manages to break free. He then uses her body temperature, gas, the gas line in the kitchen and microwaved dog tags to blow her up and effectively send her flying to some power lines, where she died.
5) After being injected with Extremis, Pepper Potts accepted it into her body. Mind you, she was injected against her will. To already show that her body improved dramatically, Pepper had quite the 6-pack. When hanging off to her supposed doom, she lets go to let Tony catch her. However, Tony didn't quite make the catch, and she fell 200 feet below to a firey pit. Fortunately, the Extremis kicked in and she survived the fall.
6) As the Extremis-enhanced Mandarin was about to kill Tony, she swings a massive pillar to his head, sending him flying a good 50 feet away.
7) Jarvis could not distinguish between Pepper and the enemy because of the Extremis, so a suit was about to kill her. Not only did she dodge it, but she used a prone Tony to boost herself up a good 30 feet and punch straight through the center of the suit. Mind you, she heated her arm to punch through the armor but quite a feat nonetheless.
8) She kicks up a rocket from the now-destroyed suit's arm before she kicks it towards the Mandarin. Then with a final repulsor blast, she kills the Mandarin using the explosion from the rocket to cause his body to explode. She then exclaimed, "Wow, th-that was really violent."
Now it is unclear whether Tony removed the virus from her or he simply stabilized it, meaning she could possibly access the virus willingly without fear of becoming a miniature nuclear bomb. If it's the latter, then maybe we might see her using her new abilities in a upcoming Avengers 2 or Iron Man 4. If it's the former, well then I'm glad that cinema is finally starting to bring out the strong female heroines saving the day.
You'd think that superspeed would make me more punctual, huh?

Because the science in the spoilers is sooooooo wrong, even by comic standards.

To be honest the explanations on screen were kind of sketchy.

Both scenes are awesome, but very fast and over in a blink (i like the slower stuff better).
As for the ending...
I think Tony removed the virus, because he said 'why stop there' and removed his own magnet, suggesting he removed something else from pepper.
Also the virus was highly addictive (which suggests it's temporary). And it also seem to result in personality changes (over time) or are all ex (wounded) us soldiers just evil from the start?
Don't get me wrong i would love to keep a super pepper around in the next movie, but I highly doubt it.
Maybe some of the excellent story writers around here could do an 'sequel'

But I guess we have disscused this to exhaustion...
