Well this an email from Marvels CEO to Sony CEO Last year as part of the general leaks. As mentioned this was last year, and if i am going to speculate it maybe regarding the "spiderman related Female lead" movie there working on(or at least were). It a short listacle article that's clearly refering to a conversation but well its intresting. the short email and the article have some intresting points about it.

As i have said before the concept of "Marvel Studios as the great film center" is something i generally don't really buy(They have made some great movies, but there win ratio quality wise is not spectacular), and i do think Iron man feels a movie more stumbled upon then a great sucess by planning-and if nothing else this kind of suggests typical producer thinking.

And in regards to Superigrl in 84 dollars 14 million dollar box office isn't good, but saying that's a disaster isn't true at all.

Funny. I knew Electra would be an unrecoverable ball of suck before the opening plot-dump was done. Like 80 seconds in I'm getting SLAPPED IN THE FACE with "the big twist". Jeebuz. To think someone got paid for that...

"Hey, we can resurrect people" is not the mark of awesome... Its announcing DEATH HAS NO DRAMATIC IMPACT and the only way you can die in this movie and stay dead is the writers just don't give a shit about you. Which sadly happened to characters significantly more interesting than the sainted protagonist. Then the fucking morons went on to try and tell me a tale where there would be the ultimate self-sacrifice... as if it meant a goddamn thing.

There is not a male character in the entire Marvel Universe that could have taken such a dumbass start and finished looking good.

The Funny part about Electra in the regard of it being a flop..its not really trying to copy superhero movies of the day...so much as the very successful female action movies of the day like Underworld Resident Evil And Tomb Raider. It has the same dark gritty feel of badass female warriors mowing down people, not really trying to save the world as just kick butt., until they have a momment of concious(okay not tomb raider precisly..but well)

Now you could argue that for all practical purposes these are Superhero films..and you would be right..ish...but well by this logic you would have to ignore the financial success of the Underworld movies which have made like a billion dollars.

Since then you have had the Hunger Games, Insurgent, yeah de yah yah....

(and didn't care for it either..but do think it wins points for its look and for its fights which is pretty good Same With Underworld)
