For those that have seen/didn't catch the first look at the Wonder Woman solo film, here is a link for it:

Admittedly there is not a great deal of footage since they haven't been filming that long. But you do get a couple of action shots and interviews with the director and actors (albeit brief).

As some may know I'm not the most ardent supportor of Gadot in the role, however I must confess that in some of the "Diana Prince" costumes, especially one shot, there is a big hint of Lynda Carter there :) And she also seems to have "bulked" up a little, judging by the size of her thighs, but I could be wrong. Kudos to her if she did though.

Anyway, look forward to seeing how the finished product goes. Only a year away, but this year will fly by with the massive amount of comic-book-movies coming :) Oh, and Rogue One :D

Peace.

That's my gut reaction too, but then I remind myself that if Kara Zor El can be skinny and strong, then why not Diana? Neither one is gaining strength proportional to the number of muscle fibers. Their origins are respectively alien and divine, so it doesn't matter.

But still... I don't want to see a skinny PowerGirl. And a physically impressive WW would be nice. Some characters have traditionally had some bulk, and WW is one.

But if the movie is otherwise good, I'll fall back on my first argument. She's not strong because of her muscle bulk but rather from her divine origins.

Rationalization can be a good friend...

I can understand the "skinny" complaints to a degree (Although even those are mitigated when you stop and think for five seconds and realize that her strength comes from the Greek Gods rather than her physical prowess) but the Xena comparisons are especially silly. It's almost like people don't know that WW was around for decades prior to Xena and was even wearing body armor back in the '80s similar to Xena's in the '90s. If anything, Xena is a copy of WW, not the other way around.

As for my honest opinion on the footage, the only thing that looks a bit off is the action scene of WW against the soldiers. Her movements look a bit awkward. However, I am sure it was probably only filmed recently and they will make it look much better in the editing process. At least I hope so anyway...

Why Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman Will Never Be Beaten

When people think of superheroes, they often have their favourite interpretations. For Batman, some people may think of Michael Keaton, while others may remember Adam West more fondly. The same situation applies with Superman, ranging from Christopher Reeve to Henry Cavill or from George Reeves to Tom Welling. However, when people think of Wonder Woman they often associate her with Lynda Carter's unforgettable portrayal of the character from the 1970's TV Series. To this day, there has never been a version of the character that has come close to Carter's. With Gal Gadot's upcoming appearance in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, (which will lead to her own feature film) I'm going to take a look back at the on-screen history of the character, highlighting the reasons why nobody will ever come close to knocking Lynda Carter from memory.
In the beginning...
Ellie Wood Walker (1967) & Cathy Lee Crosby (1974)
Ellie Wood Walker (1967) & Cathy Lee Crosby (1974)

People often forget that Lynda Carter was not the first actress to portray Wonder Woman. The first attempt at an on-screen Wonder Woman came in the form of a 1967 TV pilot, entitled Who's Afraid of Diana Prince? Commissioned by the creators of the hugely successful Batman TV series, the pilot mimicked the tongue-in-cheek tone of Batman and was more comedic than dramatic. Wonder Woman/Diana Prince was a shell of her comic book persona and appeared obsessed with her 'beauty', spending most of the short admiring herself in the mirror. Mockingly, the reflection is a more attractive Wonder Woman (played by Linda Harrison), perhaps alluding to the unjust stereotypes associated with women during the time period. Similarly, Diana's mother mentions being disgraced by the fact that her daughter was unmarried, reflecting the social norms of the time. Thankfully, the series never saw the light of day. It's somehow satisfying to know that Who's Afraid of Diana Prince? was shelved. Wonder Woman is associated with being a strong female icon and this pilot completely missed the point of the character, undermining her all on the basis of her being female.

The first serious attempt at Wonder Woman came several years later in the form of the 1974 TV movie Wonder Woman, starring Cathy Lee Crosby. Barely resembling the comic book character, Crosby had blonde hair and wore a full body suit. The characterisation was completely different, Wonder Woman was more agent that superhero and never exhibited any super human abilities. Despite being a huge improvement from the 1967 attempt, Crosby's Wonder Woman never really took off. Ratings were described as "respectable but not exactly wondrous." Originally comissioned as a potential pilot, this TV movie has since been released on DVD. An ABC spokesperson would later acknowledge that the decision to update the character was a mistake. However, the network showed continued interest in the character and almost immediately put another pilot into production. This one would change the character of Wonder Woman forever.
"You're a wonder, Wonder Woman"
Lynda Carter
Lynda Carter

ABC quickly put a new Wonder Woman movie into production. Unlike the first attempt, they remained truthful to the comic book character, setting the narrative during the Second World War. The pilot would see the character leave her native home of Paradise Island and travel to Washington, to protect the world from the Nazis. Lynda Carter was chosen to play the title character and the TV movie premiered to huge success, prompting ABC to order several more special episodes. It appeared to be third time lucky for Wonder Woman, as ABC eventually gave the show a weekly slot. In the series, Wonder Woman would assume the secret identity of Yeoman First Class Diana Prince, working for the War Department alongside Major Steve Trevor. When the country was under attack, Diana would transform into Wonder Woman and swoop in to save the day. The weekly plots consisted of Wonder Woman taking on Nazi's or Nazi sympathisers. Apparently due to a lot of effort from Carter herself, Diana often showed initiative and intelligence, highlighting that she should not be held back due to her gender (an important characteristic that Who's Afraid of Diana Prince? clearly overlooked). Carter became a sex symbol and a star. Moreover, Carter is responsible for creating the spin transformation that is now so synonymous with the Wonder Woman character. The spin has even been used in Justice League Unlimited.

Despite being a ratings success, ABC was reluctant to renew the series for a second season. Their reasoning was that, despite the success, Wonder Woman was a period piece and remained expensive to recreate the 1940's setting. While ABC made up it's mind, Warner Bros listened to an offer from rival network CBS, who agreed to pick the series up only if the setting was updated to the then current 1970's. The series was retitled The New Adventures of Wonder Woman and Carter's outfit was updated, becoming more sexy and less conservative. The character became less naive and well aware that she could use her beauty to persuade people to talk. Originally mirroring the first season's comic-like approach, the series eventually dropped all comic references, including the animated credits and began to resemble more of a procedural detective drama (as was common with shows during the 1970's). Diana Prince's dowdy disguise was also eventually dropped and, this time around, she worked for the Inter Agency Defence Command (or IADC for short).

Aftermath and Legacy

The series finished it's run after three seasons with sixty episodes produced. To this day, it remains the most successful on-screen attempt at the character. Several years ago, there were rumours of a Wonder Woman film, with Joss Whedon at the helm, that never came to fruition. Adrianne Palicki plays Wonder Woman in a 2011 unaired TV pilot that would have become a series. The network did not pick it up. It was also panned by critics and fans alike after it was leaked online.

Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman redefined what it meant to be a female superhero. Following on from what Yvonne Craig accomplished a decade earlier in Batman, Carter provided a female role model who could stand toe-to-toe with men, proving that her gender difference did not put her at a disadvantage but gave her the upper hand. As well as the super-heroine, Diana Prince (specifically the CBS reincarnation) highlighted how a woman could hold a high profile job in a profession that was often considered to be male dominated. The series spat in the face of Who's Afraid of Diana Prince? by highlighting that women could be bold, beautiful and intelligent. Carter's Wonder Woman had both brains and beauty, whereas the earlier incarnation appeared to have neither. The show is still considered revolutionary as Carter's Wonder Woman was the first time ever that a female superhero had a show of her own. Moreover, the series is still in syndication around the world, being shown on MeTV in the US and on the horror channel in the UK. Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has said her own series is the first time that a female superhero has helmed her own show since Wonder Woman. Moreover, Supergirl borrows several elements from the Wonder Woman series, most notably Kara's disguise is reminiscent of Diana Prince's. Marvel's Agent Carter also bares several similarities to the series, specifically the 1940's setting, as well as Peggy's playful sarcasm with her colleagues. Furthermore, the incredibly popular Justice League animated series incorporated the spin transformation into the character of Wonder Woman. Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman continues to be a pop culture icon, being mentioned in several TV series, including Queer as Folk. British soap opera EastEnders continues to make several references each year as one of the soaps main characters is called Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright). On more than one occasion, she has even dressed up as the superhero. The show is still prevalent with the online community too, as several of the fan-made posters that emerge online feature Carter's Wonder Woman opposite fan favourites such as Christian Bale's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman. Another point of interest is the show's availability: Wonder Woman has been widely available on home video format for many years. During the 1990's, almost every episode was released on VHS format which was unheard of at the time (Complete collections and boxsets are still relatively new). The three episodes that were omitted from the VHS collection contained musical performances from artists, suggesting that their omission was for copyright reasons. As the DVD format overtook VHS, Warner Home Video released two single DVD's called The New Adventures of Wonder Woman. Each DVD contained six episodes from the CBS series (season two). Two years later, all three seasons of Wonder Woman were released on DVD, complete with special features and behind-the-scenes documentaries. This set included every episode. More recently, all sixty episodes have been remastered in 16:9 HD widescreen (the show was filmed for 4:3 television sets, as was the norm in the 1970's), meaning that new audiences can discover the show for generations to come. This HD version of the series is currently available for purchase on iTunes.
Resurrection
Wonder Woman '77
Wonder Woman '77

As of 2015, the show was somewhat resurrected in the form of the new comic series Wonder Woman '77. Lynda Carter allowed the series to use her likeness. The comic does a great job of capturing the tone of the CBS series, following the adventures of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor. Wonder Woman '77 has been praised and has proven popular with fans of the series. The series is still on going.
Future

Despite all the on-screen failures surrounding the character, Lynda Carter made Wonder Woman a worldwide cultural phenomenon. Her portrayal not only did 'wonders' for the character, but it gave women a role model, conveying that females are equally as powerful as males, showing that women could stand out in a male dominated society. Wonder Woman proved that womankind "is stronger than ever" and Carter made the character a female icon. Isn't that what Wonder Woman is all about?

We are all eagerly awaiting Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, who is set to make her first appearance in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Considering that the character has had more on-screen failures than any other superhero, this could go either way. Despite being optimistic that Gadot will be great, I know one thing for sure: What Lynda Carter did for the character, and ultimately what she did for the portrayal of women and female superheroes, is why she will forever maintain the crown as the one true Wonder Woman.

I could not agree more with this article...I was a young gay boy when the show came out and her character was inspirational in many ways, not just for women but for us gay kids, who deep inside, knew we were special being living in the wrong era. Lynda Carter's kindness & strength spoke volumes to us. Miss Carter will forever be the true Wonder Woman!!!

Okay, for a certain generation, Lynda Carter will always be THE ONLY WONDER WOMAN. Sorry, but Gal Gadot, just ain't got it. She looks okay as Wonder Woman, but her appearance as Diana Prince is very much lacking. Lynda Carter was able to pull of an innocent beauty as Yeoman Prince that was always MORE attractive than Wonder Woman. By the time of the New Adventures of Wonder Woman, she'd turned that knob up to 11. Lynda Carter's Diana Prince has always been more beautiful than Wonder Woman and that's something that Gal Gadot lacks. Few women can rock that Diana Prince Ponytail like Lynda Carter (Cote DePablo being one of the few.) If you disagree, that's your problem. You probably didn't grow up with Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman and will never understand. As for the Kathy Lee Crosby, I have that one too. It's fun, and it's enjoyable, and once again Ricardo Montalban proves why NOBODY can fill his shoes.

There's a very real reason why Lynda was and will always be Wonder Woman: there's not an actress alive that has her beauty and charm as it was on display with her characterization. There's a reason why she was voted "the most beautiful woman in the world" at one time. I'm close to her age and will willingly admit I had a crush on her for years. And you know the one thing that she had/has that Ms. Gadot doesn't have? Tits, standing firm and beautiful. The way she filled out that costume will never be matched. And don't forget that smile.... Sigh...

I have to strongly agree. Lynda Carter has always been Wonder Woman & may always be the best in my eyes. I feel the same way about Christopher Reeve. Except here, Lynda was my 1st crush and I am still quite taken with here with her with every cameo she graces us with. But I feel good with the direction they are taking Wonder Woman with Gal. With the footage they released, I am really excited for her movie as well as her interaction with Superman & Batman. It looks like she may the warrior & hero you hope she would be. Good article.

I think you'll find Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman is extremely popular. Nothing hilarious about it, Carter made Wonder Woman the cultural icon that she is today - if it weren't for her, Wonder Woman wouldn't be as popular as she is. You should show a little respect.

Why is it there's always a few who just have to throw a wrench with comments that are so negative. Go to the Internet and search her autobiography... She's has done a lot more than making a Marvel Figure come to life... A talent that many cannot even come close to.

Lynda Carter's portrayal was classic and comparisons between her Wonder Woman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman are unavoidable, but it shouldn't be set up as a competition. They're each representative of different era's in Diana's comic book history.

I find the criticism's of Gal Gadot's physical appearance so funny and ironic at this point. Rewinding the clock back about 8 months, I remember the first reaction to Melissa Benoist's cast and then that first look of her......

Super Ordinary girl.....not pretty......ugly......flat chested.......should have been actress XYZ.......costume is stupid......looks like a cosplayer in a halloween costume.......etc

Now, while the show is far from perfect, one of the things people unanimously (usually) agree on is how perfect Melissa is in the role of Supergirl. One of the members of the SWM group on Facebook used to BLAST her incesantly, but now (and he is big enough to admit his mistake) he rambles on how perfect she is. I thought no one could top LvV in playing Supergirl, but Melissa IS Supergirl.

Similarly, we've seen 30 seconds of Gal as WW (even less in costume) and some people are condemning her already and comparing her unfavorably to Lynda Carter. I'll admit that Lynda was the quintessential WW (and a strong reason I'm probably in this genre), and there is a good chance that Gal might bomb, but let's play it out.

Good point about Supergirl. One thing is obvious is that they had a character in mind-A charming kinda quirkly but well meaning woman who wants to do good. They cast the actress who could do that best. And a certain amount of that is writing, but they cast well.

What there goal with Wonder Woman is a touch more mysterious-but i am getting the sence that word is exotic. The Stranger person, from another place, who in this movie is trying to learn about the mortal world with a touch of danger . Thats not a bad version of the character- if your going to do a movie thats a good story to tell. Wonder Woman character works best when the perfect meats the real world, and she deals with it. Making her this exotic strange, but powerful presence is a good touch. And Gadot in the past can play that.

-the TV Pilot Version was trying a bit to split the diffrence between them and was horrible(okay I'll give it an intresting failure)-however they are giving the actress another shot with Mocking bird and that. Carter played it as a wide Eyed innocent which is if your doing a TV show not a horrible way, but i don't think would necessairly would work in a modern movie-but playing her as something with a touch of danger is a good call. Someone who can do violence not just push people around and block bullets.

Would it be nice if Gadot had a little more muscle tone. Yeah. its obvious she put a lot of time in the gym, but it didn't work as well as Benoist(as i said before Gadot looked as if she was never willing to get Fat) , but almost if there going to play her as exotically powerful to have her a little less bukly could work-but i donno.

I am looking forward to this movie. Don't know, but this does sound intriguing, as someone who has given thought of what a wonder woman movie should be itcould be neat.Like i said Wonder woman is about accepting the good-and i can take good.

Well, to keep it real, I'm not a Lynda Carter as WW fan, but perhaps that's a function of my age. I turned 30 during her late 70's show, and I think it was more directed toward pubescent males. I was busy raising my young children by the end of her show.

I always envisioned WW as athletic and warrior-like, and Lynda was the farthest from that in my mind.

Xena was more interesting when she came along. She looked believable as a warrior.

While I'm concerned about Gal as WW, I reserve judgement. If she's awesomely toned (and there is some indication of that in the preview), then she might be believable as a "divine warrior" or whatever. She has to look and act exotic in my mind.

But as others have said, it all depends on the writing, acting and directing, as well as the handling of special effects. She could own the role if all that came together to make a mysterious stranger who was a descendent of the gods. A tall order, but not impossible.

Note that I didn't hear many complaints when Lorelei, the Asgardian sorceress, played by Elena Satine, displayed superstrength in SHIELD. Or as Mera on Smallville. She isn't built like a warrior. But she does have attitude. Sometimes that's what it takes.

I'm trying to understand the point of you posting that article? Is it that Linda Carter was so great as WW that they should never, ever try to make another WW show or movie? No matter who the new actress is?

I think that everyone can admit that Linda Carter, being the first and most successful, was iconic as WW and for a certain generation she will always be WW. However, that shouldn't preclude younger generations from ever having "their" version of WW, should it? I mean, imagine if Tim Burton said to himself "You know, Adam West really killed it as Batman back in the '60s and there is no way anyone could top him so I'm not even going to try to make a new Batman movie." We never would have gotten Batman '89 and the rest of them.

I have learned to trust my gut over the years.
I disliked Man of Steel.
Almost everything about it I disliked.
The same team behind Man of Steel is behind Batman vs Superman.
A story weakend right out of the gate because Batman and Superman are not friends when their differences cause them to come to blows.
I had an initial negative gut reaction when Gal was cast.
I had a negative gut reaction when Wonder Woman's costume was stripped of all Patriotic flavor and turned into a brown muted Xena costume.
I could go on and on but there is no need to pile on.
This is not the Wonder Woman I want to see.

My gut has been wrong before and I do admit when I am wrong.
I don't think I will be proven wrong.

Always interesting how much people's views vary. I liked Man of Steel, a lot, but like everything, it could be better in some areas. A lot better in a few.

The most exciting part of Batman versus Superman is the "versus" -- the two of them begin as enemies. Which its easy to understand if you look past some of the silly Super Pals kind of silliness of the past comics. Neither of them are trusting types. Powerful alpha males with vast power of radically different origins.

But I expect the hostility between them will change by movie's end, but the journey from enemy to friend will be enjoyable to watch if it's written reasonably. The only real question is how much of role in the developing friendship WW will play, and what will be her status at the end. Obviously there will be plenty of rough edges still to go around at the end, which we will see worked out in subsequent movies.

But then, I'm an optimist by nature, and difficult to truly disappoint. Few things are truly bad, as there is good in everything and everyone. There are also opportunities for improvement in everything. Life is better spent thinking about the later.

I find the older I get, the more optimistic I am about most things. Movies and TV included. When I compare Supergirl TV against the 70's Wonder Woman, it's obvious how far we've come. But that doesn't stop me from encouraging them to get better. I want holography and/or direct neural connections to allow total immersion in the story, feelings and action. But likely that's a future treat for those of you who are younger.

2016 and 2017 are going to be banner years. Everything we fans have been wanting for decades FINALLY comes together, especially if you include the last part of 2015 with SG and Jessica Jones.

We truly live in wondrous times compared to any other time in history, in almost every way you can measure it.

We can fully agree on that!
I would not want to live in any other time in history than right now.

Batman vs Superman owes a lot to the saga of Gilgamesh and Enkidu written almost 4000 years ago.
It's the almost the exact same plot.
Enkidu the Wildman comes down from the mountains to stop Gilgamesh from oppressing the people.
They fight, become friends then team up to fight a common enemy.

Excellent reference. I hadn't thought of that.

Lets hope the writers do justice to that theme. Neither of these guys are great character actors (my opinion anyway), but with good writing and direction, they could put on an entertaining performance.

The thing I have to guard against is forming strong opinions based on trailers. They can't give you a feeling for the narrative arcs of the story or the character development from beginning to end. Those are the elements that make a movie memorable to me.

Special effects are like big battle scenes in a comic book. Entertaining, but not very satisfying. For me anyway, explosions and battles are like punctuation marks in prose. Very important, but their role is to make the human (or whatever) stories more dramatic.

But then, I didn't grow up with first-shooter video games. The only video game I ever really played (well, other than the early Pong stuff) was Myst, if anyone remembers that. I sometimes wonder if that's an important distinction.

Every Monday I look forward to watching Supergirl. I have no such anticipation towards Batman vs Superman. I will go see it with an open mind, but I think it is going to stink. Hopefully, the parts with WW will be enjoyable.

Thank god there is at least one other voice of optimism. ;) These are my thoughts exactly.

I'm going down on this pretty hard, but I think it's time. So far we only got to see very little of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and nothing that even remotely resemble any extended scene, trailers are usually made hand-picking the most impressive shots of a movie, so we have no actual clue of her ability to ACT the part, to present the character in a way that is believable to the audience. As Jess kindly pointed out over a year ago, most people -- including us -- have been obsessed on how she looks, over her acting skills, which might be a fir point, but I would like to remind all of you that in 1989 nobody believed that Michael Keaton could be a credible Batman and, as far as I'm concerned, he aced that role, no other actor has been able to make Batman look scary by smiling.
Personally I don't really look forward to this movie, but this is because so far I didn't like the grimdark style and the writing that the Warner crew favored on their superhero flicks, not because this crew haven't shown a good deal of skill.

I'm with you, Woodclaw. The acting is key. Have you noticed how Melissa Benoist's entire personality and demeanor changes when she wears her uniform? I can (almost) forget that she has no chest :-).

When i first saw Man of Steel i didn't like it very much.. Its overly long, the Krypton stuff is visually intrestintresting but ruins the plot, it builds up to a climax that is hard to follow..

.but as i go back to it, both in discussions online and with a second and third viewing-i think i have come around. i find myself defending it more then i should. As compared to the MCU its a movie about ideas-not always well defined ones but intresting ones about an indvduals space in the universe, the consiquence of actions and how people should live with what they have. the Central Rommance has bueaty to it, as does the gorgious cinemtography,. The special effects are neat. And yeah the final scene with Zod i do think at least aknwoldges and makes a moment out of Death. All of this may not be the right thing, but with Marvel movies increasingly feeling like there going through the motions-its *something*

In short its a movie that i kinda changed my mind about which is generally rare in movies.

For that sence i am intrested in seing the sequal, and what the minds behind it could come across. Yeah i think people are right-Gadot maybe terrible, and a lot is riding on that-but it something, and i am looking forward to that.

I don't think we can read too much into not seeing too much of Godot in the trailers. It's not the Wonder Woman movie, it's Batman vs. Superman.

I think Man of Steel was an incredibly well made movie: great acting, great special effects, and a lot of care on the background and plot. I just don't like it.

I've also said that BvS could adjust how I think of the movie. Just like in the end, I say similar things about the Dark Knight Rises. I end out .. loving Catwoman in the film. I enjoyed watching it. Nolan is a master ... but after I saw it, i'm not sure it's really all that great. And by how it wrapped up the story Nolan was telling, it made me think less of the other two movies. THIS is what he was after? I probably need to watch all of them in quick succession. I'll probably like Dark Knight Rises much better when I see it again. (Maybe.)

(An aside: Intersteller was a great movie, but holy shit was it so predictable.)

I do think that often people don't like something, and then they come up with reasons after the fact. I've seen it often in others, and in myself. So I try to be careful about MoS because I know exactly why I think the Kent death is so amazingly stupid, and it knocked me out of the movie (it's a strong emotional reaction). And it is strong enough that I just don't like the movie, and then, once I'm there, it's quite easy to manufacture a list of reasons to justify it, when really, all I need to say is that I don't like it. Not every movie is for everyone, and if others like something you don't, well, their tastes just differ. I happen to really enjoy watching Hudson Hawk. Few others do.

I do think BvS could do the opposite for me and make me think better of Man of Steel. _possibly_. We'll see. I'm keeping an open mind about it. And really right now the only determination we need to make is: are we going to go see the movie? If the answer is "yes", well, stop over analyzing every little thing (unless it's enjoyable for you to do so.) And instead, just go to the movie and let go and experience it for what it is. THEN, you can decide.

A corollary of manufacturing reasons why you don't like something, is that some people convince themselves that something will be horrible before seeing it, and it can become a self-fufilling prophecy.

I think this is why I go see these movies on the opening Thursday: I haven't heard what anyone else has said yet. I'm generally putting myself in a mood to go have fun, which means I'll likely have a better time at the movie. If I don't like a movie under those conditions, likely I won't ever like the movie. Plus the others there are likely all jazzed too, and that is infectious.

I just don't pay attention anyone else's opinion on movies. I really like some movies that most people hate, and vice versa.

My gripe is with teasers and trailers, most of which I try to avoid seeing as I find they take me into the movie with expectations. I like to be surprised.

And I fully expect that I might not like a movie very much on first viewing, but that it an grow on me. So I don't write anything off until I've seen it at least twice.

The new Star Wars was that way. If not for going with my 7 year grandson (who is a Star Wars nut) I might not have enjoyed it. Once it's available on Bluray, then I'll watch it for myself. I expect it will grow on me.

I also don't watch movies with high visual appeal on satellite, cable or streaming media, even though its all supposedly in "HD". The reduction in quality is extreme as compared to Bluray. AppleTV streaming is the best I've seen, especially as compared to Netflix or DirectTV. But nothing beats a Bluray.

Until streaming HD goes to 4K, then its like listening to MP3 music. Fine for background, but not for critical listening/viewing.
