Apparently a version of Joss Whedon's 2000 era Wonder Woman script has leaked.
I have not read the script nor do i plan to.
It is summed up pretty good in this article.

Looks like we might have dodged a bullet.

The included writing snippet doesn't seem remotely like anything else Whedon had written.

And I'd heard before that his movie was set in the past (WW I or II) and that upset WB time (this is from memory from YEARS ago though). So again, doesn't sound like what was mentioned at the time.

So I'm wondering if this is really Whedon's script? Or is it something else that someone is claiming is his?

Writers do write duds, and can get totally wrong takes on things ... and some of it sounds like some recent things said about his script (that Diana was above everyone else and needed Steve to humanize her). So it's all possible, just that it makes me really skeptical.

I agree that the article on the supposed Whedon script doesn't sound anything like Whedon. He absolutely loves superhumanly powerful young females, and usually portrays them well. He once famous said, and I paraphrase, 'I can't write anything that doesn't have a superpowered teenage girl in it".

He's moved beyond that (said back in Buffy time, I think), but it's hard to imagine him treating WW this way. He adores women.

Sounds like BS to me too.

Ofc not everything Whedon writes is great, but this seems so far removed from his style as to be suspect imo. I have a theory, but will keep it to myself ;)

I'll pass on looking for this supposed "leaked" script.

Peace.

Right now I'm focused on the movie that is coming up!

Reading the past script is either:

- a waste of time because it sucks
- a waste of time as it'll just make me sad over things lost.
- a double waste of time as it's not even the real script.

I have a LOT of things I need to read/see/consume. And a giant comic book collection that keeps telling me "you need to re-read THIS!". ;-)
