A male and female both have some telepathic/telekinetic abilities.    The female is able to make people bleed from their eyes and die..    The male has telekinetic powers

The climatic end scene is kind of impressive, but might be a spoiler    Interesting special effects since cgi was not available.

IMO, the scanners sequels (III and IV, I think) were better movies featuring female telekinetics.
