Meg Donnelly is New Supergirl

I guess her facial features will bring a kind of 'alien resonance' to her portrayal of her character.
(With all due respect, she is certainly no youthful Helen Slater.)

While she looks like she could maybe play a live action version of the character, if you click the link and read the article, you'll see that this is voice acting for a cartoon.

Yes, the typo is a direct quote from the article.

I thought it was live action also, thinking "didn't this get canned?" or "What happened to the actress they had?".  Until I read the article.

Seems like she is voicing the character in the animation.

This got me thinking about something I recently noticed in imdb. It appears that for productions after a certain date, they have stopped putting `(voice)` after the character name, at least if the production is an animated production. Looks like around 2020 is the point of the change. They didn't drop it from any existing records, they just seemed to stop using it going forward. I discovered this when I was looking at a voice actor's credits and thought I saw that they had started doing more live action roles until I clicked into the titles and discovered the entire title to be animated.

I assume IMDB decided that it was obvious that any role in an animated feature would be a voice role, it only frustrated me because I don't click into every single feature of an actor or actress's credits and the name of the feature alone doesn't give any indication of animated or live action. Voice roles in live action features will probably still indicate such, but primarily because the credits in the live action feature will credit them as `voice of`.
