Ms Marvel coming to TV????

Well, it's a wayyyys off and still a lot of hoops to jump through but....

Word out of the New York ComicCon -- in a panel regarding Marvel live-action TV in development -- was that the series "AKA Jessica Jones" (formally known as Alias in the comics), featuring the super-strong Jessica Jones (formerly the heroine, Jewel), is still in development over at ABC. While this would be enough to get excited over (hopefully a lot of Jewel flashbacks ), they also mentioned that Carol Danvers, AKA Ms Marvel, would have a role in the series (as well as Luke Cage).

Of less uber note, two other series featuring Marvel superheroines, Cloak & Dagger and Mockingbird, were also still in development over at ABC Family....

Sorry, AJF, must have missed the Ms Marvel part if you mentioned it....my apologies. As for the time, it's kinda interesting that marvel seems to take all the time in the world planning and writing while DC threw up Wonder Woman (ironic choice of words) to pilot in record time...

Looks like ABC doing the "smart" move of rolling out the Hulk to TV and passing on Jessica Jones and the Punisher -- two of the most TV-friendly concepts they had in the hopper. They're trying cashing in on the fan favorite Hulk from his Avengers appearance forgetting the following simple truths:

1) Hulk 'succeeded' in the Avengers cause he wasn't front and center but part of an ensemble cast
2) Hulk 'succeeded' in the Avengers cause of their huge FX budget (both in his rendering and his superfeats)
3) Hulk 'succeeded' (partially) in the Avengers due to Ruffalo's brilliant portrayal of Banner

Good luck getting all -- or any -- of those three stars to lineup for a Hulk TV series....
