Batgirl tv series? was created by andyf
That's the rumor now, that she's being developed for the now launched DC Universe streaming service. This could explain whether hadn't heard anything interjection since Whedon left and why AN is pushing so hard for a Supgitl film

If true, I find it strange they'd do a Batgirl and Batwoamn show around the same time.  I know they are different characters but in marketing to the masses that are more unfamiliar with them it's hard to differentiate the two based n name alone.

WB don't care.

As far as they are concerned, "girl power" is hot atm, so lets announce this.

Look at all the films they have announced recently - Birds of Prey, Gotham City Sirens, Supergirl.

Agree, from a marketing (and saturation perspective) it doesn't make sense.

But this is WB so eh.

Peace.

It's not like "having a plan" has ever been evidenced by WB in regards to DC properties.

It is sort of nice to see "girl power" as the focus after decades of "women led comic/action properties can't sell". I just hope that when they made the (sadly inevitable crap) that they blame _that thing_ rather than all of them. (If there are enough successes first, then a bad show won't taint the idea.)

The only key is "does the show work".  If you write a good Batgirl show, people will watch it.   If it's on the DC Streaming service only, I doubt anyone who finds it will be confused w/ Batwoman.

OTH, if it's only on the streaming service I don't know how they'd have enough money to do it well.  Right now Titans looks like a bit of a wreck, but we've not actually SEEN the show yet ... so I'll reserve judgment.
