As Steve Trevor, he was the original Hunk in Peril.

An All-American, two-fisted Nazi smashing machine....who always ended up outfoxed by the Fuhrer's nefarious agents, konked on the head and tied up, and needing a certain satin-tight-wearing bombshell to use her immense strength and compassion (and cleverness) to save him. A whiff of romance burbled between them, but was never given much of a chance to blossom.

In season 2, as WW moved into the modern era, he played the (implausibly twin-like) son of his World War II progenitor, running the IADC and sending Diana Prince out on missions.  He was more desk-bound and only rarely menaced, but maintained amiable banter with his capable agent, Diana Prince.

Still, a lot of us certainly wanted to be Steve Trevor.  Especially when SHE was around.  RIP, Lucky Lyle.

In the first season Wonder Woman and Steve were a great team and played very well off each other.
In season two as mentioned Steve jr. slowly shifted into desk bound duty.
It was a masterstroke of writing keeping the actor but slightly tweaking the character thus eliminating any chance of romance between the two.
Set in the modern day of the 1970s Steve Trevor treated Diana as an equal which was super progressive

Credit where credit is due Lyle Waggoner was a professional and never phoned in his character even when he was sent desk bound in the later episodes.

In 1991 he played against type and played a bad guy in Wizards of the Demon Sword
He ate up the screen and I believe Hollywood missed an opportunity casting him as handsome baddguys in other projects

RIP, Lyle....fond memories of him as Steve Trevor growing up as well as playing the straight man on the Carol Burnett Show.  Sad day, indeed!

Rest In Peace Lyle. He played the role of Steve Trevor to perfection and had an amazing rapport with Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman and Diana Prince.

Not superwoman related, but anyone in So Cal who has wandered by a film/tv production on location has run across his company Star Waggons. I know they aren’t the only ones in their area (dressing room/make up/wardrobe trailers) but they are one of the largest ones.

On another note, I always liked his voice, had a nice quality to it.

RIP Lyle

Lynda Carter gave a moving tribute to him on FB and Twitter.

He played the part well. Sure the show could have done more with him, especially toward the end. But he was always likable, He got the part right in that he had that admiration for Wonder Woman. For the demographic of this website,he was living a dream, .
