Statistics

I couldn't put my finger on who the Russian actress reminded me of for a couple of days. Being on virus lockdown can mess with your head that way, but I saw her on screen today.

She looks like the beautiful Jessica Alba.

I really liked it.  Nearly all of the action is in the first five minutes, but it really was easy to watch even though I know just a few words of Russian.

I also felt that Alba's Dark Angel left an awful lot on the table. If they'd thrown in the bionic angle and amped her up, it could have been a far more interesting series to many of us. But as it was, Season 1 was enjoyable, but a lot of that was anticipation of them revealing more of her abilities. 

Unfortunately, they went the opposite way in Season 2. Sign of the times as much as anything. 

Anna in the Russian series also has great potential, but so far, in the one episode I've seen, it's mostly endless dialog in Russian, which I don't understand. Very disappointing for me after the first five minutes. 

Wonder if they spent their entire special effects budget in the opening.
