Super Ex article

Not that I like these names, but I was thinking maybe "Galaxy Girl", or "Galactic Girl" (if she comes from another planet), or maybe "Gamma Gal" (if she aquired her powers through some kind of experiment gone wrong, like the Hulk). Anyway I hope she has the full-range of super-powers, and I hope she doesn't just have super-strength, but ludicrous-strength! :) I think the more powers she has, and the more super she is, the more creative the writers can be, and the more fun the movie will be, not just for us, but for movie goers in general.

Well according to cast members, she's VERY strong......I've heard on set reports that there are "car scenes" where either someone is thrown into a car or throws the car.....

As for definite proof, we know she's at least semi-uber from these latest pics on the set:

Hello everyone. Our censoring software is dead here for now. So of course I jumped right on SWM to see what is up. Been gone for 6+ months now. Glad to see the forum is still strong. Thanks ACE191 for making a reference to me in one of your last stories. I've been having them sent to me. Which is also MUCH appreciated.

Love the costume. I want the movie to be a success. Success breeds clones in the movie biz. The boots and short booty shorts really rock. Coat is needed in NY. Uma is a bit flat but I'll tune that out. Hopefully she has plenty of powers. I would think the more powers she has the more inventive the script writers can be. Great blonde hair and a wonderful smile. Hope to see her smiling as she pulls off her stunts. Her Clark Kent personality is cute as well. Very convincing. As for it being a chick-flick, I won't mind that. Scorned women are extremely evil and vengeful. Which is right up my alley as long as I'm not the target.

Can't wait to head home in Jan for a few weeks of leave. I know I'll be spending a few days locked up in my basement trying to catch up. Too many eyeballs around here to do any of it.

Ace191, Patton said basically that it is no good for a Soldier to die for his country. The goal is to make the other dumb sonofabitch die for his.

My motto here is "Shoot first and then shoot again". We took mortar fire two days in a row recently. Luckily the training program for mortar crewman is pretty pathetic. I also have a video taken of a local national screwing a donkey. It is through telephoto nightvision. Very funny narration.

It looks like she can at least fly:

It also looks like she lost her symbol and has some holes in her costume. I wonder if she got into a big fight?

Actually the holes the look like a natural part of her costume to me. The G-Girl character may be some kind of fashionista, which would seem to fit a "needy and manipulative" character that the film implies.

You could be right. I just noticed that the clothes she is "flying" in are different than the costume pictures that were posted earlier in this thread.

Have heard a variety of interesting plot points or action tidbits in the movie. Keep in mind that these come from a variety of sources -- interviews with stars, blogs, and some conversations with me on the set -- so they are a mish-mash of things that supposedly got filmed. Whether they stay in the movie is up to Ivan, whether they are true, well....don't blame me, but this is some of the things I hear (SPOILERS BELOW):

-- Uma's character is "G-Girl"
-- Uma can fly
-- Uma has superstrength
-- At least one throatlift is in the movie (have seen stills)
-- There is a scene where Uma uses superbreath (to extinguish a fire?)
-- Uma gets either hit by a car or thrown into a car at some point
-- Uma gets thrown through a window
-- And the best for last, according to IMDB, Anna Faris plays "Hannah" the new girlfriend. Well, I've heard from an extra on the film that the film includes a scene where G-Girl battles Hannah "in the skies". Now unless Hannah is a fighter pilot, I would assume she is also super -- either secretive or gains powers at some point. This would also explain how a super like Uma could get "get thrown" into things I guess

Unfortuately, the title of the movie isn't changing though :P

From the pictures I've seen of Anna Faris, she looks more buff than Uma. So if she were super too, I can understand why a guy might dump Uma for her.

According to the writer (Don Payne), there should be a trailer for the film released this week ("by March 13th"). Twould seem based on their competition and the July 14th release date, they are behind schedule in terms of promotion (website, trailers, etc)

Little (and I emphasize little) blurb over at EW.com:

www.ew.com/ew/preview/movie/0,6115,11850...111310||0_0_,00.html

Wondering why a supergal would need a chainsaw, but oh well, she still looks great!

Food for thought. Now this is a comedy, not exactly our kind of thing (Or maybe it is, judging from some of the comical uberromance stories in the last SGI Workshop).

BUT.....

I'm wondering whether it might create more INTEREST in our kind of fiction, more traffic here, more sales for Ed Howdershelt's In Service to a Goddess stories and Mandi Steele'sTHE AWAKENING, etc.

Maybe we should be thinking of ways to take advantage of the movie. Even if it's not a hit, even if it's a flop, it's goihg to be seen by millions of people. It might be a stimulant to the genre.

I think it's a dead cert that a lot of people (logically speaking, most of them pubescent boys) will discover that they have the superwoman fetish when they see this film.

That poster is something else, IMO. I just keep staring at it.

When I first saw it, my desk rose a couple of inches off the floor...

I'm delighted and appalled! Delighted that they released a great poster. Appalled that they sent a brand-new Dodge Charger to the scrap heap already!! I'm sure that the rest of us Mopar brethren are feeling pretty much the same way. Why couldn't they have used a dime a dozen Chevy like the Impala?!!
