Though it wasn't really anything special, they showed what I'm guessing are the main characters standing in front of school lockers and then we get to see Stargirl in the costume and that was it. No one is missing anything great by not seeing the trailer.

I like the bare mid riff.
Never thought i'd see something like that in a CW show in 2020.
Maybe somebody over there "gets" it.

CW has been trying to expand from their target audience of the past, which they claimed was mostly postfeminist young females. They now include young males. Latest surveys say they are pretty close to 50:50 female:male viewers now, which is a HUGE change from the turn of the century. Most of that is due to their change in focus toward SciFi and Superheroes.
I'm sure a bare midriff isn't going to cause rioting in the streets by CW viewers, although I suppose it's a risk.
Personally, my hopes all rest on Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple+ and Disney+, who at least embrace Gen-Xers.
Give me Expanse, some of the new Apple+ shows and anything that originated with Tolkien, and some Star Wars spinoffs, and I'm happy. And don't forget Season Two of The Boys which just wrapped up filming. That is a fun show which we'd never have seen if Bezos wasn't personally such a fan of many of the same things we are. With Expanse, The Boys and a huge Tolkien series coming, Bezos is my SF/Fantasy entertainment hero.

Still, I must confess, I will be checking this out. Can't be worse then Batwoman
I'm with you Shadar, so looking forward to the streaming services upcoming productions. Can't wait for The Expanse (one of the best shows I've seen, not just in the sci-fi genre). And also Amazon's Tolkien productions.
Peace.

Flash is his own character. With his own stories, concepts and what they say one of "richest" (weirdest) rogues gallery in comics. Far different from Supergirl, Batwoman and even Green Arrow. A hurdle their writers has never or evened tried to overcome.
Stargirl doesn't have any of those. All she has is the basic foundation of a good girl trying to do the right thing. I hope it's enough but deep down I know it isn't. Time will tell if they're creative enough to overcome this.

This one is Disney's Star Girl starring Grace VanderWahl (sp?) who was the young ukulele-playing winner of America's Got Talent a year or two ago. It was only a matter of time till Disney capitalized on her fame and "cuteness" factor..... Completely independent of DC's new Stargirl series.

It was a pretty good start to the series, establishing several of the main characters(mainly Courtney and Pat) and their relationships. A bit heavy on the teen drama, but that's to be expected from a CW show. Plus, it's true to the original Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E. comic, where Courtney was portrayed as being very resentful of her mother's marriage and the move from LA to Nebraska. Hell, the show lightened her up a bit, because she was a bit of a brat early in the comic. Here she's more tolerable. Of course, with her creator Geoff Johns as a producer, he's not going to let them screw around with a deeply personal character(Courtney was modeled after Johns' sister, who had died when TWA Flight 800 went down in '96). On top of that, it established that she's got a background in gymnastics and martial arts, so her growing skills when she suits up won't be too far out of the blue. We were also introduced to several supporting characters who will become heroes and villains in their own rights. And points to Luke Wilson and Amy Smart for their portrayals of Pat Dugan and Barbara Whitmore-Dugan.
All told, like I said, it's a good start that ended on a nice cliffhanger and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.
