With Supergirl #9, looks like DC is getting away from the Twilight Zone/What If/Earth Angel/"Who the Heck understands it, and who the hell cares?" rendition of Kara and is starting to go back to the basics -- a superpowered Kryptonian female teenager, albeit with a little more moxie than the silver-aged Kara.

Good jumping on point for new readers, IMO, with this issue. Oh, and a nice panel of her lifting a delivery truck one handed! :P

Definately a spin on the traditional rendition of the character, also considering that her apparent love interest is the son of an old school Flash villain who's also tied in with the Batman mythos. Gotta love the unified DCU.
