Just a thought

Why are there so many subforums for the SGI Workshops? Each workshop has its own forum, the discussion of upcoming topics is under Story Requests/Suggestions, and sometimes the Updates section will announce stories being put in the story bank.

It just seems to me that it would be easier to throw it all into a single subforum called "SGI Workshops", with individual threads for each of these things. It's not like the quantity of posts around here is so high that we have a hard time keeping up with all the different discussions.

Just my 2 cents worth,

YAGS

I checked the "Updates" section and found only one post announcing that a set of workshop stories had been added to the StoryBank. All the other announcements of that kind appeared in the "StoryBank" section -- which seems perfectly appropriate.

Likewise, I think "Story Suggestions/Requests" is the right place to, uh, suggest/request themes for upcoming workshops.

But yes, the forums are are getting a little top-heavy with workshop-related sections. If I may tweak your suggestion -- perhaps, whenever a new set of workshop stories is posted, the threads pertaining to the previous workshop could be retired to a "Workshop Archives" section. Voting and feedback on the new stories would have its own section ... until the next batch of stories is posted.

This would streamline the forum, but of course admin would have to do all the work. I say let him decide if it's worth the trouble.

Of course, more people could post and that would make things more spread out across the board.... :P

I'll THINK about it. But I prefer Lfan's suggestion.

OK, all SGI Story Workshop discussions have been grouped together in a single forum. The solitary StoryBank post under "Updates" has been moved to "StoryBank".

Happy now?
