Overall it looks nice, a decent mix between the old iconic look ad the current one. Based on some online commentaries I believe that at the end of the current odyssey storyline something close to this should become Diana official new look.

Again, I kinda like it. Overall, I think the comic fans have been receptive to it (as well as our community) based on initial comments with the same belief that "it coulda been much worse". Sadly, the more generic movie sites (e.g. entertainment Weekly, SuperheroHype) have comments that are pretty much ripping it to shreds, along with the actress.

I think the people saying it's too shiny and looks fake should take it up with the photographer and photoshopper of that pic. I'd be very surprised if all the shininess translates to filming. While it isnt a matte finish, something tells me itll be muted down when we see it on film.

Overall I like just about everything except the belt and the boots. The belt looks strange and the boots are too busy at the top with all the gold. I think the OP before said it right with having blue boots to make her legs appear longer, especially with such a low riding belt.

I love the WW breastplate though I'd lose the red star in the center. The gauntlets look great too, I think. Although again, I'd lose the WW trimming on them as well

Some tweet that the pic was taken at 1am after a long day of shooting...hopefully that was the contributing factor to the makeup fiasco...:p

Same at Comicvine, lots of people complained about it saying that it's too shiny and too soft porn. I agree that the shine is really offensive to the eye, but we saw much worst around.

It totally cracks me up when people comment and say it's an EPIC FAIL cause of their limited understanding of photography and makeup. These are the same people that probably said that Adrianne was a terrible choice cause she was a blond. And then the same comments of her dark hair with the bangs ("wonder woman doesn't have bangs. This will fail"). While they are entitled to their comments, people just hate to hate sometimes....sad....

Interesting Tidbit: you have to be very careful about "shiny" things when shooting in HD because it can cause light "pluming." They were very careful making the bustier and forearm guards more matte so the pants are a bit of a surprise. They might change or the shine really might be a function of the studio photography lights, poor photography, etc rather than the costume. Makeup for still versus video also tends to be different.

There is hope.

[I'm not a fan of the entire "fail/epic fail" thing either - nothing constructive about it.]

Lynda's comments: www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b23..._original_think.html

The lady is all class, more than I can say about all the little trolls that lob cheap shots personally at the actress ("fugly", "tranny").

Find it interesting that Ms Carter seems so on board with the remake (even said she'd guest star). If memory serves, Lyndsey Wagner was not too complimentary on the BW remake

Yep, it´s shinning too much, but damn, its the first image. And it is SO MUCH better than some generic black outfit A La Smallville

I had some time to visit some other sites today to see what most people are saying about this new costume.

To put it mildly, let's hope the people responsible for bringing WW back to TV do not have internet access. There are some really mean-spirited people on the internet and they are out in full force concerning this.

I don't mind people having opinions of course, but what I can't stand are those people who have to convince you that they are right and there is no possible way that you could have a differing opinion than them. It really seems like their head might explode at some point if they don't get their way.

The costume is fine in my opinion. Sure, it could use a few changes here and there but that is no reason to act like the world is ending because we are not going back to the '70s costume.

"Trukk not Munky" , or the only constant of every fandom is complains. True the new WW look from the comics doesn't work, but I still think that complaining based on nothing but a picture are crazy.

The funniest comment I've seen, although a bit mean, was something to the effect of "above the belt, it's great, but below the belt it looks like a Smurf exploded." I actually like it myself, although I could do without all the seams on the top.

I'm just glad they didn't put her in a black overcoat like the way everything was going. I've seen lots of fanboys / middle aged men saying that they won't watch it because of this costume. Estupido. They have to appeal to the broadest possible tastes for this TV show to last not merely the superheroine genre fans like us who probably number about 10,000 in English speaking territories.

I like it, hot girl in bright sexy costume, yeah the boots could be red or she could have been bare-legged etc, but it's not bad.

I can get used to the costume. But I absolutely love Adrianne as Wonder Woman! She's certainly got the look.

Besides, we don't even know if that's the final costume. Could have been just a pic from a test shoot, leaked to the net for feedback.

just sayin......

According to the makeup artist, it is the final version. Any changes would be minimal, but doubtful...

I'd have to say that the costume looks pretty good to me. Far better looking than I was fearing. Perhaps it could have been better, but there's nothing so wrong with it to my mind.

The NEW Wonderwoman costume is beginging to grow on me. The tight sweatpants look is verry unassuming and functional, verry AMAZON. I'ts just revaling enough to be suggestive "in our male pig minds" but not in the least "exploitive".
As a leg man, I sometimes find pants exighting, like in the 9 sesons of The X-Files, I could imagine agent Scully annyway I wanted to, sometimes with the long wirey legs of a dancer, othertimes with the smooth powerfull scullcrushers of a off season female body builder.
I guess I like the pants, they make for fammaly friendly female empowerment, and the secret saucey fun for folks like my self.

Nice compermise I would say.

Be positive!?

But how to be positive with such a mess! And what a mess!
There is one thing I don't understand : I heard everyone saying that this Wonder Woman's costume is supposed to be a compromise, but what compromise ??!!
Just watch in Smallville : Black Canary's costume is sexy as hell, Maxima was very sexy too, there was no compromise !
So stop talking nonsense : don't make me believe that the writers have to compromise for prime time!

It seems that no one can make you believe anything.

First, how can you deem this new show a "mess" when you have not seen one second of film?

Second, do you really think that Wonder Woman's star spangled bathing suit costume is going to work in prime time here in 2011?

Hey, I'm a guy and I would love to see it but I understand the need to modernize it (i.e. tone it down) in order to sell it to viewers and, most importantly, advertisers.

This is the compromise, the top of the costume is basically the same as the "traditional" costume while the bottom was changed to more like what is in the current comics. What's wrong with that?

Third, who cares what Smallville has done? It has no relevance to Wonder Woman's TV show.

I just can't stand people that whine about stuff before they have even seen the final product. I read somewhere that she might have several different costumes during the course of the show but I have no idea if that is true or not. If so, great! If not, no biggie, I'll survive.

What's really going to make this show is the writing. If it sucks, then, after it airs, I'll be on here with you calling for its cancellation. Until then, I'm just going with the flow...

100% agree with jdrock24. When I first saw that a new Wonder Woman had been announced, I was head over heels excited. And then I find out that people are complaining that they're going to ruin it when all we had were speculations that she would be dressed in a leather jacket.

How spoiled do you have to be to complain about THAT?!

I'm hoping that she will have a special tropical beach outfit for when she visits say Paradise Island, as opposed to her usual "Work" outfit.
