I just discovered this cover by RICHARD CORBEN. in ZONA 84 magazine.
When I saw it, several ideas for stories came to mind.
For example
"A very strong thunder and lightning sounded and illuminated everything. Leaving me blind and on the ground. When my eyes recovered there were three impressive figures that left me without breath or speech.
One of them approached me and with one hand lifted me up from the ground. and looking at me, blue eyes that painters would like to have. And smiling at me. spoke to me.
by the great SKIETRA. ON WHICH PLANET HAVE WE APPEARED?..."

It's challenging, either the controlnet is tricky or I'm not knowledgable enough (probably both) but here's what I got after several attempts. Not quite satisfied but... hopefully I can tweak it some more.

For recoloring, I find it's much better to use an image editor like GIMP or Photoshop and then pass it to img2img. Even a rough edit can be smoothed out by img2img.  You may lose some of the original details (although controlnet / lineart would help with that) but the end result is usually better.

giving that one another try, this time with just img2img and upscaling. You're right, I'd probably get better results with the tools you mentioned, but I actually know nothing about them   

When I saw the image below, I was sure I'd seen it before. Looking around in my archives, I found a very similar pose from many years ago, and crudely colorized. 

To put a label on this one, I'd call it Uninhibited.

He is cursing when suddenly two red-clad feet appear in the air in front of his eyes, causing him to fall backwards when he steps back.
Looking up, you see two red boots that reach above the knees, covering jeans that model sculptural legs. It follows a stylized body to a face with eyes so beautiful that the pain of falling and problems disappear.....

The finest reward for creating an image is seeing it create a little bit of written fantasy... most of my stories start that way.

My head is filled with ideas for stories, vignettes. that come from images of you. to read your stories. both from the old Aurora universe and from Aurora's adventures. As well as Moxie. Julie's Adventures.
There are so many that it is difficult for me to write and organize these thoughts.
What has occurred to me lately is what the life of a high school student who is going to spend the last school year abroad and specifically to LITTLE KRYPTON would be like. Or he goes on exchange to California or Boulder (Colorado) at the Mathews' house or the house of a rugby player. meeting Kara or Julie.
What would his life be like? He would fall in love. there would be danger, etc.lo siento Shadar. Ojala pudiera sentarme y poder continuar. en mi cabeza se llena de ideas para historias, viñetas. que salen de imagenes tuyas. de leer relatos tuyos. tanto del antiguo universo Aurora como de las adventuras de Aurora. asi como de Moxie. Las adventuras de Julie.Son tantas que me es difícil escribir y ordenar dichos pensamientos.Lo que se me ocurre últimamente es como seria la vida de un estudiante de bachillerato que va a pasar el ultimo año escolar al extranjero y específicamente a LITTLE KRYPTON. That would be interesting... a teenage guy from another country wins a scholarship to the world-renown school at Little Krypton ranch, and is immersed into a family of a dozen or so Kryptonians. Living in the dorms and hanging out with kids his age, some of them Kryptonian living in the open as depicted on this image showing an outing in the mountains on the northern edge of the huge ranch.  

The purpose of the ranch school is to provide a place for Kara and Kal to raise their kids in a rich environment filled with every kind of diverse and high-performing student from around the world, studying with the finest teachers on the planet. Could be some mutants and other aliens mixed in, perhaps.

The first part of such a final year abroad will be meeting and getting used to living among that large family of Kryptonian kids and their ultra famous parents, not to mention helping out in various projects and Watchtower kind of operations to maximize the Kryptonians talents to save the world. 

Talk about an exciting year before heading off to University. Little Krypton always needs high capable people who can live among and work with Kryptonians, who most of the planet regard as either gods or monsters.

about a teenager winning a scholarship to study in Little Krypton. may be feasible. but my initial idea was a boy who suffers contempt for being what is known as a nerd or freak, he does not have a sporty body, he is fat, he feels inferior. His class wins a scholarship to study in the United States and for some reason he is the only one who is not welcomed by a family. then since no one pays attention to him, neither the tutors nor those in charge of the organization. You have to leave alone carrying your luggage or without it because you have lost it.
It's so sunk. humiliated hungry with barely any money. He feels that only with death will he stop suffering. that the hatred he feels inside (the image of those who have made him suffer celebrating his death) is not enough to move forward.
It's raining, it's wet, it's going down the shoulder. Then he decides to go into the forest and after advancing for hours. He decides in the middle of the storm to sit down and let the cold and water end his life.
when one of Superman's daughters appears. He may be older or the same age as the young man. She starts encouraging him or tries to get him to open up. He believes it is a dream, a delusional illusion. then she picks it up.....

The goal of my story series are to provide a world and character building environment featuring Kryptonians or the Supremis (Velorians/Arions). Unlike the closed, canonical fan-bases like Star Wars/Trek and many others, the AU has always been wide open for interpretation and exploration. So any story you write that draws from this is fine with me. 

I greatly enjoy it when people take what they like of my worlds and create new story series that go in different directions. Many people have done this over the years, more recently including Anonxyzus and his Kiraling series.  

The real magic is not in the world or character building but in the many explorations of what that can mean when it involves superpowered aliens and we mere humans intermingling. We OG Humans are surprisingly valuable and interesting to the superhumans, at least in my thinking. 

The origin story of Little Krypton began with the oldest daughter Alura and her very human boyfriend, who are going to university together in Boulder, CO. Alura is studying engineering as she heads up the family space launching business that allows very large payloads to be transported to the Martian colonies (setting is the late 2090's and the beginning of the 22nd century, with 10,000 plus 'Martians' living there in underground colonies).

Without requiring a First or Second stage booster to get out of Earth's gravity well (which is where much of the cost, danger and pollution exist), the massive payloads that she (with the help of her siblings) carry silently to orbit and then push to escape velocity on their way to Mars require only course correction engines and extremely robust aerobraking and final descent engines. Same goes for launches from Mars back to Earth, which take many months to travel a distance (that the Kryptonians can travel alone in a day or so). 

That story opened with Alura's  boyfriend traveling to Little Krypton to talk to her parents about marriage, only to discover that her mother Kara is trying to reestablish the Kryptonian race (based only on herself and her cousin Kal El's genetics), which understandably presents numerous social and other problems in the eyes of a Terran who is trying to marry into the family. Alura is going to have many children, but not his. A relationship challenge to say the least.

I've kind of written around the ickiness of repopulating a race based on just two parents and their many children (a dozen and counting), along with a few of the usual genetic problems, but Kryptonians are special and I'll eventually need to tackle that head on. With that many children, there are many individual stories that involve many human associates, friends, lovers, etc. 

Stories of the people of Earth as they interact with those children.

Which bothers me since when it was published, in Spain there was a change of publishing company. From PLANETAAGOSTINI aka PLANETA COMIC (COMICS FORUM) they went to E.C.C.
leaving unpublished.
I like this ending.
And it gives rise to many stories about what happened next.
