Training

Are there any stories out there about a supergirl practicing use of her powers with her mother?  Because I think it’s kind of weird that I haven’t seen any.

Doesn't her mother die on Krypton?

The Kryptonian Supergirl who is trying to find her feet on her new home planet could have the holographic image of her mother to help and instruct Kara on her new capabilities under the Earth's sun.
It was her mother who told her of the powers she would possess 'beyond your wildest dreams', but Kara may have been too young to remember the conversation, in what would have been a very stressful situation, before she was whisked away from the destructing planet.

E.T.A. I am thinking of the brilliant Super Me as an example.

 

Not necessarily a Kryptonian, just a mother-daughter pair with superpowers.

I don't know if I'm wrong but in one of the old versions of the Aurora universe, XARA's training with her mother KARA is mentioned. I don't remember in which stories.

That was a theme in some of the stories in the 1990’s. The Kiraling series of stories by Anonymous, that have been featured here, branched off from that era of stories, depicting Xana growing up with the support of her mother and several other Velorians and an Arian or two. 

But the focus wasn’t just on physical training, as in learning to fly or whatever, but on all aspects of teenage maturity. Or the lack thereof.

There are also elements of it in my Little Krypton story series posted here, albeit it involves a dozen children of Kal El and Kara from age 2 to 20 as they grow up and gain power and experience.

But if you are looking for a short story that deals exclusively with children learning to be super, that perhaps that remains to be written. But bear in mind that SWM frowns on significant portrayals of characters younger than 18, so it’s slippery ground to portray anything that even hints at sexualizing  children, even when done in a respectful way. Emphasizing genre aspects of underage female supers can sometimes be interpreted in a sexual fashion, even if not written with explicit sexualization. 

For what it’s worth… slippery ground.

I was thinking more of the character being in her mid-to-late  teens.  That didn’t really occur to me.
