Well, who know what there is out there?

Well, who know what there is out there? was created by Woodclaw
A little article about a high energy beam reaching Earth from an apparently empty region of space... and it got named after the Japanese sun-goddess. I think we all know how this might end.

Maybe something like this...?

Arwen had paddled her kayak to this tiny, sandy tropical island, leaving her adoptive family briefly behind at Kiki Resort, when a narrowly-focused beam of particles from the void between this galaxy and the next struck the Earth, burning a hole through the atmosphere to bath her with a golden glow. It vaporized grains of sand to fly around her like tiny fireflies, turning what was left of the tiny island to glass everywhere except where she was lying.

Her body soaked up the inter-galactic rays to protect the sand she lay upon, her mousy brown hair instantly changing to a gorgeous blonde as it grew long, her darker brown eyes to a transparent blue, her pale skin turning golden, her muscles suddenly growing sculpted and harder than steel, her legs reaching downward, longer and slender and beautiful as the rays triggered a massive reaction from the hidden portion of her DNA that could only be revealed by such galactic fire. She instantly knew without looking that she was the most beautiful girl on Earth -- and the most powerful. Those weird thoughts that had circulated in her mind for the last years were suddenly crystalized in KNOWING.

The doctors who had never been able to figure out her weird physiology would finally understand, because now Arwen knew exactly who she was and why she'd been secretly sent to Earth as a baby.

THEY were coming. The Destroyers, and Earth was their new target, just as her birth parents had known would happen someday when they'd sent their other children to other developing worlds. Secretly sent to grow up and live and learn as an ordinary human, to learn their ways before the Destroyers inevitably came to their world.

Now she had to find the others, for it was up to them alone to save Earth and the billions who could live only here.

Floating just above the island of glass, examining herself in the reflections, realizing she was now wearing the costume that she'd so long seen in her dreams, she realized this was going to be a challenge to explain to her older brothers and her adoptive parents and her many friends. On the other hand, Jeremy, her boyfriend... now he was going to love it!

Kneeling down on the broken and glassy surface where she'd lain, she gathered her powers, feeling the power of the universe racing inward, soaking into her muscles, making her into the girl she'd been born to be.  The shattered bits of glass and remaining stones rose into the air around her as she leapt upward, soaring miles high in a single bound, her joyful laughter reaching for miles in every direction.

So something akin to "Power from the stars"?

Maybe "Beam of incomprehensibly powerful particles from beyond the stars strikes Earth" and leave the rest up to the author.

After all, the actual beam being reported in the science article is truly "incomprehensibly powerful" with no known explanation in astronomical theory to its source, especially given that its coming from a black place between galaxies where there are no stars. What could be so incredibly powerful yet invisible?  Even blackholes have rings of gases and star-bits that they are devouring, and they are very bright.

How can the most powerful thing come from nothing?

Fiction aside, this is a fascinating.

I get ya, I just want to keep a potential theme short and concise for the ease of everyone :-)

Maybe "Energy from space" would work? On point, but allows for plenty of room for different interpretations so all the stories aren't locked into one particular variant?

"Mysterious powerful energy beam from space strikes Earth... go!"

I dunno, it's generating lots of ideas:
*Human gets zapped with mysterious beam giving her superpowers
*Mysterious beam is energy signature of Earth's first superwoman visitor
*League of Superheroes faces a threat unlike any they've ever faced
*Ancient civilization sends message to Earth warning of the coming of the Goddess!

And those are just some generic ones. I'd love to read some creative takes that answer the question: "What the hell was that?"
